August 6, 6:00 PM  In order to introduce Ms Marion Blumenthal Lazan to our community, in preparation for her visit September 24, you are invited to a showing of the documentary: MARION'S TRIUMPH: SURVIVING HISTORY'S NIGHTMARE at the Temple of Israel. The documentary is narrated by Debra Messing. There is some graphic depiction of atrocities so the film should be suitable for ages 12 and up. Students should be accompanied by an adult.

September 24, 6:00 PM  Temple of Israel invites one and all to hear Marion Blumenthal Lazan, author, lecturer and Holocaust survivor speak.

Ms. Lazan is an amazing speaker and we hope you will attend this important program. This generation will be the last to hear first hand accounts by Holocaust survivors.

Ms. Lazan began speaking publicly about her Holocaust experiences in 1979; her memoir, FOUR PERFECT PEBBLES was published in 1996. Upwards of one million students and adults in schools, organizations and houses of worship in over 30 states, Germany and Israel have personally heard her messages of tolerance and respect.

Ms. Lazan gives a moving, first hand account of the Blumenthal family's life from events preceding Kristallnacht, to imprisonment in Nazi concentration camps, and finally to liberation. She asks her audiences to be tolerant of others and not stereotype individuals based on religious belief, color, race or national origin. She stresses the importance of positive thinking as well as creativity and inner strength to over come adversity.
